christmascard2008

Our family: Mary, Bill; Children: Derrick, age 24; Ryan, age 22;
and Caitlin, age 20.
We moved to Charlotte in Dec. 1994 from Hebron,CT. We
love it!

Bill and I both graduated from Southern Connecticut State College
graduating in 1976 and 1977 respectively . I majored in Art Education. I
was an Elementary Art teacher at Montowese Elem. in North Haven CT for
seven years. I’ve had a few jobs over the years, most recently working as a substitute in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools for about 11 years. For the last 5 years, however, I’ve been concentrating on web design and Internet PR for authors. I work from home and it’s been very challenging and interesting. Bill worked for Personal Lines at The Hartford for over 30 years. Most of that time was spent in the “Personal Lines” area, but in Jan ‘06″ he started working for Hartford Flood. He also works from home and has a little more travel, but is really enjoying the new challenge.

Derrick has been living on his own for about 4 years. He and Ryan both work for a friend of ours who runs “Prestige Chem-Dry”. They enjoy it. It’s a real “family operation” employing our sons and the owner’s two sons. In fact, sometimes I think that Rick and Carolyn, the owners, are Derrick and Ryan’s real parents!

Ryan is almost finished getting an Associates degree in English at Central Piedmont Community College. He has a concentration in journalism and finished up an internship at a local weekly paper, “Creative Loafing”. He is still doing freelance work for the publication.

Caitlin graduated from North Mecklenburg High School and is a Sophomore at Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina.

Before moving to Charlotte, we lived in
Hebron, CT for 8 years and before that, in Rocky Hill, CT for about 3
years. Bill grew up in Wethersfield, CT, graduating from Wethersfield High
in 1971. I grew up in Newington, CT and graduated from Newington High in
1973. We are all members of Red Sox Nation and avid UCONN Huskies fans! We fly our UCONN and flag proudly here in “Duke Country” !  and
